Tasting Notes

Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Sep 13
Pale yellow. Reticent nose hints at pear, clove, menthol and wet stone. Concentrated and penetrating, with harmonious lemony acidity framing and carrying the smoke and lemon flavors. At once dense and crisp, and nicely long on the aftertaste. Needs some time in bottle to express itself.

Meursault

Meursault, in Burgundy's Côte de Beaune, is famed for its rich and complex Chardonnay wines. Known for opulent textures, vibrant acidity, and nutty, buttery flavours with notes of stone fruits, citrus, and hazelnuts, these wines also feature a subtle minerality and creamy mouthfeel from limestone-rich soils and oak ageing. Though lacking Grand Cru vineyards, Premier Cru sites like Les Perrières, Les Genevrières, and Les Charmes produce exceptional wines. Top producers include Domaine des Comtes Lafon, Domaine Roulot, and Domaine Coche-Dury, all celebrated for showcasing Meursault's unique terroir.
